INTRODUCTION
Agbani Asenite Darego is a Sagittarius, she was
born on 22 December 1982 in Lagos but she is
from Abonnema in Rivers State, She is from a
family of ten which includes (Father, Mother and
Eight Children). At age two, she relocated to Port
Harcourt.
She has seven siblings to call her family .Her
father name is Asennite Sikibo Darego, he retired
as a custom officer.
As a teenager, Darego longed to be a model, and
despite her conservative father's wishes, she
auditioned for the M-Net Face of Africa modeling
competition, but was not chosen as a finalist.
She is first native of Sub-saharan African to win
Miss World (Miss Universe 2001). with 1.8mts
(6ft) height, she has brown eyes and a very long
dark hair.
Presently she is an orphan, she lost are mother
through cancer of the breast when she was in
secondary school and her father in year 2012.
EDUCATION
Agbani Asenite Darego attended Bereton
Montessori Nursery and Primary School. At age
of ten, she was sent to a boarding school. After
her secondary school education she studied
computer science and math at the University of
Port Harcourt, she also studied Psychology in
New York University. As a teenager, Darego
longed to be a model, and despite her
conservative father's wishes, she auditioned for
the M-Net Face of Africa modelling competition,
but was not chosen as a finalist. But later are
dream came to pat.
MODELLING CAREER
In 2001, Darego was crowned Most Beautiful Girl
in Nigeria.
She won a total cash price of $100000 plus gifts
valued at $150,000 at the Miss world 2001,

She has worked with Naomi Campbell in
