A party agent of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) has been shot dead in Eziama
Obire in Nkwere LGA Imo state.
Independent newspaper reports that the
yet to be identified agent was killed by
hoodlums.
The report says the incident was
confirmed by Police spokesman in the
state, Godson Orlando Ikeokwu.

Legit.ng had earlier reported that armed
thugs have stormed several polling units
and carried away voting materials such
as result sheets, card readers, ballot
boxes and ballot papers.
The incident occurred in Ogor Okpala
local government area of the state in the
governorship and state assembly
elections held on Saturday, March 9.
The report quotes officials of the
Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) and members of the
electorate in the state as saying they lost
other personal valuable items like mobile
phones, bags and jewelery.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng also reported that an
election observer was shot dead at the
home of Ayaogu Eze, the gubernatorial
candidate of the All Progressive Congress
(APC) in Umuonu-Umuida, Enugu-Ezike,
Enugu state.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting
is still unclear even as the bus of the
group has been damaged.

The home of Ayogu Eze has been
cordoned off by a combined team of
police and officers. The victim is part of a
group of observers monitoring the
governorship and state House of
Assembly elections.
