Dear Subscriber We are delighted to invite you to the 12th edition of PwC Nigeria’s Annual Power and Utilities Roundtable. Our past roundtables have dealt with, amongst other themes, the challenges of transforming the Nigerian power landscape, evaluation of the privatisation of government owned power generation companies, alternative access to power such as the off-grid models, pathways to recovery in the sector, financing and collaborative ways of harmonising stakeholders’ interests and working together to achieve success. The theme this year is: “Sustainable power supply in Nigeria - What next? Gaining perspectives from Ghana and South Africa”. Nigeria, the largest economy in sub-saharan Africa with over 195 million people, supplies only an estimated 4,000 MW of electric power. Commercial and industrial businesses and residents suffer the effects of this with a heavy reliance on costly self generated power. This practice is especially inefficient considering Nigeria's potential to generate 12,522 MW from its existing gas, hydro and solar plants. There is an urgent need for sustainable power supply. Join us at this year's Power and Utilities Roundtable where stakeholders in the power sector will discuss current industry drawbacks and limitations, as well as practical solutions to achieving sustainable power supply.
